Katy Miles

17th October 2024, Christ Church Malvern Road Cheltenham

Sadly passed away on the 28th September 2024 aged 46. Katy has left a huge hole in all the lives she touched and her positivity and infectious smile will always be remembered

Katy had a long illness having being diagnosed with cancer 8 years ago at just 38 years old. Many organisations have supported Katy and her family over the years and it was Katy’s wish for donations in lieu of flowers to Charlie’s Cancer Charity and Sue Ryder Hospice, Leckhampton. How they have helped Katy:

Charlies – have been a huge support for Katy with complimentary therapeutic treatments and emotional support. They have also provided one to one support to Katy’s family, incredibly all free of charge, I cannot stress how much this has helped, particularly to Katy’s niece Lily, in being able to talk openly about Katy’s illness and preparing for this time when she is no longer with us.

Sue Ryder, Leckhampton – Katy spent the last almost 3 weeks of her life being cared for by the amazing team of staff and volunteers at the hospice. They not only ensured she was comfortable but also ensured that her care was tailored to her wishes, it also meant that Katy’s husband, Matt and her sister, Lucy were able to sleep next to her, so she was not alone and for family and friends to visit when they wanted. This flexibility afforded Katy, her family and close friends to make everlasting memories.
