Unattended Cremation

An Unattended Cremation, also known as a Direct Cremation, is a simple cremation where there are no mourners, family or friends present.

As there is no ceremony or service, it offers a more affordable type of funeral solution. Please be assured that with an Unattended Cremation, you will still receive the same caring and compassionate service from our team at Alexander Burn Funeral Directors.

Unattended Cremations

Option 1: Unattended Cremation: £1,895

What’s included:

  • We will arrange for the deceased to be taken into our care (within Gloucestershire) and looked after in one of our funeral homes until the day of the cremation
  • The professional services of arranging the cremation, including administration of legal documents
  • A traditional light oak veneer coffin
  • Conveyance of the deceased to the local crematorium using a funeral appropriate vehicle
  • Cremation fees
  • Collection and safe storage of the ashes
  • It is not possible to choose what date or time the cremation will take place
  • No chapel of rest visits can take place
  • No mourners or minister can attend

Option 2: Unattended Cremation: £1,995

  • Option 1 plus hygienic treatment and preparation of the deceased
  • Use of the chapel of rest in office hours

Option 3: In-House service with Unattended Cremation: £2,300

Please note: payment for an Unattended Cremation must be paid in full prior to the funeral taking place.
